Another Week of Freestyle Bullshit
BLOCKED!
Two artists earned themselves a place on my Facebook block list this week. Let’s start with Stefanie Bennett. I received a few invitations from her to join her new Facebook page. On the surface it appears to be promoting her next single (a featured spot for 20 Fingers) which I have zero interest in. Why? Have you heard her last few releases?
I don’t care if the new song is produced by Charlie Babie & JJ Flores. I still don’t believe it will be any good based on everything else she has released over the last few years. Plus I also have my doubts that this is a Freestyle song. After the lukewarm response Charlie Babie received (sycophants aside) when he made his return to Freestyle a few years ago, I just don’t see him making a second comeback to a dead genre.
Anyways - after deleting a few of her invitations, she sent multiple messages to my inbox on Facebook Messenger. I checked out the page. Promoting the new song is just a front for her real motive of begging for money to fund a music video for this new song. Fuck that. BLOCKED.
The second artist to get blocked is Evalina, the queen of Yuyo MC DaWizard’s clown kingdom. Why? Every few weeks she’ll send me a message via Facebook Messenger begging for “votes”. I just delete the messages without checking them out. I received one or two more of these messages earlier this week, which was just the last straw for me. Blocked to put an end to it once and for all.
Why does it feel like it’s only former Tazmania artists that carry the most baggage and drama? One is arguably the least talented artist to have ever been on Tazmania’s main roster. The other wasn’t good enough for the main roster so she was shit out to Boca and Tango before ending up on the island of SGR’s misfit Juggalos. I couldn’t care less about the music either one of them is putting out. Neither will be missed on my timeline.
Delusions of Freestyle Grandeur
A day or two ago I saw a post from Nashali saying that people have been calling her a “trailblazer”. She was humble and responded with something along the lines of “thanks but I am just trying to find my place in the Freestyle world”. Now, we already know that Freestyle fans say and do some outrageous shit, so… this checks out. I honestly have no idea what her post was referring to but I do know that she is at least 35 years too late to be a trailblazer. She had a really strong debut but everything since has failed to live up to the potential of “Second Chance (At Love)” - which is easily in my Top 10 Freestyle songs of the 2020s.
I will give credit where it is due, Nashali has made a name for herself in Colombia where she has become somewhat of a Freestyle superstar. Perhaps this is where she trailblazes? I am not knocking Nashali here. I respect her hustle. It’s the clueless fans who feel a need to put nonsensical labels on everything. This shit just needs to stop. It isn’t helping the cause.
Putting Other Stations on Notice: STOP THE INSANITY… STOP Supporting Everything
I’ll address new Freestyle releases in a bit, but first there is something else that has been bugging me. I am being 100% truthful when I say that I do not check out the “competition”. I don’t need to because I already know they lack the library that RSE Freestyle Radio has. I also know that other Freestyle stations will pretty much play anything, blindly adding every new release that comes their way. Why? Bragging rights, I suppose.
All of it is so they can post “new music alerts” to let people know that Lil Suzy’s best friend from Kindergarten’s new song has been added to their station. No doubt produced by Brazil’s hottest new Casio king using a pirated copy of FL Studio and “Planet Rock” loops! Like who the fuck cares? Don’t get me started on the non-Freestyle stuff they add just because a Freestyle artist (or someone they are fucking) is involved.
I know they probably feel like they are providing a service by adding anything and everything to their rotation. They also probably feel some pressure that they could potentially lose access to future promos if they decline to play something.
I receive very few promos. 729 Entertainment Group and The Santana Twins are pretty much the only folks that service me. So, as someone who buys just about everything that you hear on RSE Freestyle Radio (and a ton of shit that you don’t because I also buy to support, even if I personally don’t think it’s worthy of airplay) - I just couldn’t care less about receiving promos.
It really is OK to say “this song sucks, let’s do our listeners a solid and not play it”. If your promo providers can’t deal with that, are these the kind of people you really want to be doing business with anyways? Fuck ‘em. It’s really that simple. There is a certain freedom that comes along with giving zero fucks. Embrace it!

New Releases
Three notable new releases came out this week
On June 10, E’Dee released “He Don’t Love You”. A a solid, if not familiar, Artie Rodriguez production.
Also on June 10, Quadlibét returned with their second single of 2025: “Nothing Left To Say”. Produced by Nathan Cruz who is making his return to Freestyle after a decade long hiatus from the genre. This one is heavily influenced by modern Pop music, but the Freestyle Mix brings enough heat to make it a worthy addition to the rotation.
Today (June 13) 418 Freestyle released the latest single from TKA’s Aby Cruz, “Make Peace”. Produced by M2 Productions (djmerkone & Luis Marte), this one has a really dreamy and chill vibe which comes off as a Pop/Breaks/Freestyle hybrid. Really nice job here.
What new Aby release would be complete without a new single from his wife, Ayna? Her latest, “More”, was released on June 6 by SGR Records. I didn’t hear about it until after I had already posted last week’s update, so I figured I’d mention it now. Another solid effort from Ayna who, at this point, is the only positive thing SGR Records has going right now.
With that out of the way, here is the updated Excel file for June 2025. Current as of a few minutes ago.
Wrapping Things Up
I’ve been playing MindsEye on my PS5. For whatever reason it’s getting slammed with negative reviews. A lot of people say the game is broken and unplayable. Others say that it doesn’t meet expectations or deliver on technical promises. I honestly don’t know what game they are playing because I have had zero issues with the game, aside from a single crash. Sure, it’s not the greatest game ever made, but it is far from the disaster people are making it out to be.
MindsEye is kind of like a cross between Grand Theft Auto and Cyberpunk 2077 - if both games had a humorless baby. It will surely go on sale relatively quickly and I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re into this sort of game, when the price is right for you.
That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading. Thanks for listening and thank you for your support!
Until next week… Take care.
