No Update This Week
But...
I have spent all of my free time this week working on the new RSE Freestyle Radio app. I have the app up and running for iOS, iPadOS and macOS. I have not been able to get CarPlay working yet and as far as I am concerned, if I can’t connect to CarPlay, the iOS app is kind of worthless. OK - worthless is a bit harsh, but without CarPlay it’s only 50% complete. It’s a tough nut to crack, but I am confident that I will figure it out, eventually.
Due to all of the hours spent working on the app this week, I neglected the station. Today I am skipping a regular update so I can focus on adding new music, updating the website and refreshing the New Music Spotlight playlist.
Before I go, I want to share screenshots of the new app, taken just a little while ago on my real devices (not running in the Apple development simulators).

I am a complete novice with very minimal coding experience aside from some basic HTML and SQL skills (and even less Python skills). Since I had zero prior knowledge of Swift I am utilizing Chat GPT to do 90% of the heavy lifting. I do not want to release the new app until CarPlay is operational in the iOS build. The last piece I would like to add will be an app for tvOS. I am hopeful I can get the iOS/iPadOS/macOS versions deployed to the App Store before the end of 2025.
